About
SALLIE BIETERMAN is a bagel on a plate full of onion rolls and a very Funny Girl from the city most likely to rain on her parade. For this reason, she calls herself “Sallie from Seattle”.
She is a life-long storyteller, tap dancer, and soup enthusiast whose mother only let her change the TV channel during the commercials. However, because Turner Classic Movies and PBS do not have commercials, she grew up watching a staggering number of MGM musicals and Ken Burns documentaries. She knows all of her states and capitols and was once described as “if the Loch Ness Monster was a human woman”. She is, at all times, prepared to perform "Trouble" from The Music Man. Her favourite day of the year is Halloween.
In 2018, she graduated Emerson College with a BFA in Theatre & Performance and double minors in History and Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies. That same year, she also graduated from the Stella Adler Studio of Acting’s Winter and Summer Musical Theatre Intensives, and moved to New York City.
There, she sings and acts and writes and dances and goes to lots of museums. She is passionate about the way we represent women, especially plus size women, on stage.
Her north star is: what isn’t in the world and should be?
